West Virginia offers online registration. This is often the fastest way to register to vote or update your registration, including changing your name or address, and for some states, political party. West Virginia’s election website may have information translated into multiple languages.
Register or update registration by mail
Mail-in registration deadline: Must be postmarked 21 days before Election Day
You can use West Virginia’s mail-in registration form to register for local, state, and national elections for the first time or update your registration with a new name or address, and for some states, political party.
You’ll need to print the form, fill it out, and mail it to your state election office. You’ll need access to a printer and a postage stamp.
Register or update registration in person
In-person registration deadline: 21 days before Election Day
You can register in person at your state or local election office, your state motor vehicles office, and at many government public assistance offices.
Register to vote from outside of the U.S.
If you’re a military service member or U.S. citizen living outside of the U.S., register or update your voter information and request an absentee ballot with the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
